Introduction

The MGB may be ubiquitous, but it's also a popular and affordable classic.
While it's easy to dismiss the MGB, there are many reasons why these hardy cars are so popular. Not only are they an absolute hoot to drive, but these good looking cars are reliable and there is never a problem finding parts, these are just a handful of reasons why went on to become the best selling sports car. With an estimated 23,000 still on UK roads, they may not be particularly exclusive, but the Pininfarina styled cars still provide that authentic classic car experience.
This 1967 example has been well maintained and has seen constant attention, including a recent external restoration. It also has the benefit of a reconditioned engine, a recent hood and carpets. A solid late MK1 example, set off by the attractive steel wheels and superb bodywork, this 'B' has a handful of improvements to help maintain its durability and reliability.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
hello James,
Most recent MOT information available on the DVLA site indicates that the car failed in 2016 due to corrosion, suspension issues and brakes”. Have these been solved in the meanwhile? In other words is the car safely driveable or should it be towed for pick up? Rgds., Jack
Hi Jack Since I have had the car 2017 I have given the car a comprehensive overhaul from bumper to bumper, including all corrosion cut out, new metalwork welded in to a high standard, new front and rear shock absorbers, front and rear suspension bushes, bump stops, rear brakes overhauled with new parts, backing plates, brake shoes, pins, springs and levers. Front brakes overhauled. The car has had everything done. Engine/Gearbox out, new timing chain + tensioner, clutch, seals, gaskets, starter motor, alternator, oil pipe, oil cooler and pipes. The car runs like a dream, starts first time every time, it is smooth to drive and the suspension works as it should therefore there is absolutely no need for a transporter.
Regards Jim
hello James, I have been looking at the photos of the front right underside of the car. Maybe I am mistaking but it seems like there is polyester repair by the hairy things I see. Can you please confirm?
Is the bonnet aluminium? it doesn’t appear but wouldn’t Mk1 have one?
Rgds.,
Jack
Hi Delaney I can assure you that there is no polyester repairs on any part of the car, what I think you are seeing is the under seal spray I put on for protection. The bonnet is aluminium. If you need further information please let me know. Jim
Hi James , is it a overdrive car , looks dark red in some pictures is it a original colour . Also what’s the chassis number please , you can leave off the last 3 digits for security if you replace with XXX . Thanks Roy
Hi Roy, yes it is overdrive from the toggle switch on right hand side of dash works on 3rd/4th gear and works as it should. This was the colour when I bought the car, it is registered as red, however I have noticed in the bulkhead a blue colour but not 100% sure, could have been fro previous work.
The chassis number is GHN3/118xxx
