Introduction
Glyn Parry
One of the most refined of Mini's limited-editions, Paul Smith put his unique design touches on this already iconic British classic.
Over five million Minis were produced between the car's launch in 1959 to 2000, however, standing out from the crowd was never an issue with the choice between so many different models and editions produced across the years.
The Paul Smith limited edition run of 1800 examples (with 300 designated for the home market), was one of the most distinctive limited-edition Minis ever produced. The car shared the basic spec of the revered Mini Cooper, powered by a 64BHP 1275cc fuel-injected engine, Minilite-type alloys, full leather seats, color-coded wheel arch extensions and mirrors finished in a distinctive purple/blue hue chosen by Paul Smith himself.
This was one of the few Minis to be fitted with the tall 2.76:1 final drive ratio, making it one of the most relaxing and refined Minis to drive. This particular example has got to be one of the most original and best kept available. Sarah inherited this limited-edition Mini from her great Aunt. It's always been garaged and with only ~6,900 miles on the clock, excellent condition from bags of originality, we know this will be one hot collector's item.

Do you have the numerical code for the stereo? It seems this is required before the stereo can be operated.
Hi there, yes I do. It’s written just inside the manual for reference. As you can see in the on the road video the radio is functioning 🙂 Many Thanks! Sarah
Hi the vehicle looks lovely on outside but the underneath of the vehicle subframe and other structural bits look to be really Rusty ?? Is this why there is no MOT as it will probably Fail a current MOT ??
Hi Rob, seems highly unlikely when you can see that it passed the MOT very recently and it’s been SORN since as I couldn’t use the car since having my daughter. The car has been garaged so it couldn’t have been better preserved than it has been. Hope that’s helped. Take care! Sarah
Hi,
Has the underside of this vehicle been inspected by a garage? It looks like it needs some work?
Regards,
Tim
Hi Tim, it passed its last MOT and was inspected by a garage then. Sarah
Is there a reason why the vehicle isn’t being sold with a current MOT?
Hi there, it’s because the vehicle was pre registered by the dealership before my great aunt purchased it (maybe to help hit their sales targets that month or maybe because it was a showroom demo?). She purchased it new with no mileage on the clock. It’s not sold with a current MOT because it’s been SORN for the past year but as you can see it passed the MOT before it was SORN. Hope that helps! Sarah
