Introduction
Glyn Parry
Instantly recognisable, the Morgan 4/4’s lineage spreads over 83 years, and it still has the same charm factor today as the very first model way back in 1936.
Originally released in 1936 the Morgan 4/4 has served as one of the worlds longest automotive production runs in history, with only a brief pause in manufacturing during the second world war, the Morgan 4/4 spans a whopping 83 years with production finally ending in 2019. Having been through a number of revisions during that time this particular Morgan 4/4 is a 1800 model first registered in 1985. Being one of the later 1600 models it benefits from a number of manufacturing changes and upgrades such as the 1.6L Ford CVH engine and four speed manual gearbox. The iconic exterior styling of the Morgan 4/4 is instantly recognisable, the curvaceous front wings, the sloping rear arches, and the retro wire wheel design all come together to form the perfect representation of classic British motoring.
This particular example comes to us as a probate sale, coming to market from family ownership since ~2008. It's a car that has been used regularly, the total mileage likely to be ~117,000 with the clock going round and now reading ~17,800, and the vendors have recently put the car through an MOT with works including a brake overhaul and new battery, along with some chassis work.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Glyn after meeting Vicky the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Hello
MOT in 2008 is 99,876 miles has engine been changed or just done over 117 k miles ? Thanks
Hi, the engine hasn’t been changed to my knowledge
Dear VickyM , a very nostalgic car for me , my late father had one when I was too young to drive ! I have put a bid on her with hope that I may fulfil my dream of being able to actually be a proud owner of one ?? My many thanks , John Paul bayliss.
Hi, it is such an amazing car & I’m sure you would love it even more if you saw/drove it. It was my uncle & aunts pride & joy. We do want it to go to a loving home but equally we can’t give it away for far less than it’s worth
Part with not orientation(?) ….. sorry about that
Hi, obviously we want to sell the vehicle but really not giving it away & it is well worth the reserve price. It’s a beautiful car & runs so well.
This car was removed from auction, having not achieved its reserve. It was then reposted at a selling price – and obviously not sold again.
So Q? What is the lowest acceptable orientation to part with this car?
