Introduction
Paul Wright
One of the most iconic cars brought to us by British manufacturers Morgan, the Plus 8 is an engineering masterpiece.
The Plus 8 was produced by Morgan for 36 years between 1968 and 2004 and was reborn from 2012 to 2018. Among enthusiasts, the +8 is deeply associated with Peter Morgan, the owner-chairman behind its design. Installing a meaty V8 engine in the front of a traditional Morgan roadster was an ingenious idea that worked well for Morgan. They created Britain's fastest accelerating production car for a time, and this creation proved so endearing it remained on sale with very few alterations for 36 years.
This 1992 Morgan Plus 8 has been with our vendor Colin for the past 11 years and has been cherished, as you can see from the condition of the two-seater Roadster. 3.9 litres of V8 power is what nestles beneath the bonnet of this lightweight vehicle, and it's a smart example finished in a classy colourway.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Paul after meeting Colin the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
Hi Colin, Your car looks like a pre cat version. Can you confirm as 1992 would have been quite late not to have cats fitted.
Thanks
Mike
It is pre-cat – once caused some consternation at MOT because it was almost reaching cat emissions but didn’t have one!
To:- Colin D, I can see that two of my questions are answered by the details connected to Trade Classics.
The only one not answered is whether it has ever had any kind of bump.
Hoping for a reply, Redgards, Philip
Morning Philip, there is no known history (nor any indication) of her ever being in a bump. Absolutely not since I’ve had her.
Colin
I suppose you are looking for the best bid, but can ask you please if there is a reserve or figure that you absolutely will not let the car go below that figure.anticipating your reply.
I understand this may be a difficult one because the car is quite old but in pretty good condition.
Finally have you had any issues concerning (a) reliability (b) recurring niggly problems. Thank you, anticipating your reply.
Morning Philip – sorry but am not allowed by TC to disclose a reserve figure, which I guess makes sense from their point of view. And no, no recurring issues. Did have two failures couple of years back which were traced to a starter solenoid relay which was replaced and nothing since. New battery also fitted at same time.
Hello Colin D, please could you tell me how many Owner’s your car has had (1). (2) has the car ever been involved in an accident.
(3) Does the car have supporting history as evidenced by a file containing the necessary paperwork? Yours, Philip
Hi Colin, I am 6ft 4ins would I fit in driving position ok?
Regards
Colin
Long legs or long body! Previous owner (never met him) had a long leg seat modification done. I’m a mere 5’11” and have to move the seat forward for full pedal movement……if that helps?
