Introduction
Darren Rungasamy
The 928 was a ground-breaking car when it was launched in 1978, a luxurious sibling to the 911.
The 928 started life with several bows to its string, which set the long-lived design on a path of desirability that is still recognised to this day. The Porsche development department was busy in the late 70s, as the brand explored the possibility of replacing their well known but niche rear-engined 911. The 928 was proposed to replace it, but the 928 offered a far more practical and comfortable philosophy. It looked like no other car before or after, and due to its cutting-edge body technology and advanced engine management, it won the 1978 European Car of the Year title. It not only set the template for the future of the brand but also the grand touring car.
Like most sports cars of this vintage, condition is the key factor. Luckily, this 1984 Series one car has seen a high level of restoration yet retains an authentically aged interior. This example has been completed in flake cherry black paint and gives a unique opportunity to enjoy the luxurious attractions of a former flagship Porsche classic with only three previous owners.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Darren after meeting Arben the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Also notice that the registration document was only issued on 18/01/22
Was that a change of ownership?
If not what was the reason?
So take the registration number off the registration document you have displayed on here PJI1778 and put it into this site.. https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk and it tells you that this car is BLUE and was first registered in1st August1993 and has never been on the road in Britain legally in the last 20 years because it has never had an MOT under that registration number,
Your pictures of the black car shell abroad somewhere show that the original carpet was black and its original trim; it had black trim not red
This car is by evidence not all original
It may be exactly as you bought it from the old man in 2019 but how and from where all the bits came together it is impossible for us to find out.
Hi there to every one

Thank you very much to you all
you say you have had “THE CAR” from 2019 and you spent that time restoring WHICH car?
I think we have established there are probably bits from three cars in this restoration , different ages and different colours
What did YOU get to restore?
Did you purchase this car as it appears now already rebuilt and restore
thatO
Orare you the person who put it all together from the different bits?
Hi with the car being 1980 is it tax and not exempt
so is that number plate and mileage from the body shell and fittings , or from the engine?
Is the car nicknamed ” Triggers Broom”?
We are a restoration company, the car has been restored with the original engine, mileage and plates. The car has no nickname.
Hi Arben- could you just clarify that the car has been imported? I see on the V5 the date of first registration is 1993, the date of manufacture is 1984, the actual year of manufacture is 1980, the car is registered as blue but it’s actually black??? Is there anything that can go towards verifying the mileage, the DVLA mot history draws a complete blank?
Regards-
Andy
Hi Andy
I have know history on the car before 2019, ive owned this for 3 years which was the time i have spent restoring it
Don’t the pictures of the car during the restoration show it is in a Mediterranean country- Cyprus?
Just trying to get a gauge on the car, it looks great in the pictures but the rest is not really adding up, surely these are questions you asked when you bought it?
Hi, auction update. We have updated the date of the car to be 1980. This is based on the chassis number which aligns to a 1980 Porsche 928. We had originally written 1984 as per the V5 document. This is likely an error on the DVLA’s part when the car was first registered in the UK. Best, Kulraj – Trade Classics
Hi
Th Kulraj
This is ok thanks ?
The Government site says this vehicle was first registered in 1993 and has not yet had its first MOT
This Auction lists it as having been first registered in1984
And has done 158k miles
Can you explain this?
Hi there good evening
Probably that exact information and I think DVLA he’s the right information.
Because I have the car since 4 years ago
And I didn’t know too much about it myself
I know the car is registered in UK got the logbook on my name we did the full restoration and put the car back on the road
