With its 3.2L flat six engine and iconic body styling, the Porsche 911 is both a formidable and desirable sports car.

The Porsche 911 has long been recognised as one of the most iconic and influential sports cars in recent history, with its instantly recognisable styling, low driving position, and precision engineering, it’s not hard to see why.

The 911 we have here is no different, with its 3.2L flat six naturally aspirated engine producing ~228bhp it can achieve speeds over 150mph and accelerates from 0-60 in just 5.6 seconds - quick in 1985 and still quick today.

The car was first registered in 1985 and is painted in Grand Prix White with original brown fabric interior - the owner told us the car has also benefited from having had a full bare metal respray in 2015 to the cost of nearly £8k.

Meet the owner

When I was in the market for a classic 911 I saw many examples, but this one in particular stood out due to its mechanical and bodywork condition.

Andy originally purchased the car in March of 2017 and since then has enjoyed 6 years of trouble free ownership. When speaking with Andy, he says there is very little to dislike about the car and it is by far the best example in his collection - liking to tinker, restore, and otherwise get stuck in with his cars, Andy finds himself turning to other vehicles in his collection due to this 911 needing no work.

With its lovely condition, owing to Andy’s reluctance to drive the vehicle, he has elected to find the car a new owner to allow him space for another toy to tinker with.

Exterior

With its striking white paintwork, exceptional bodywork, and stand out styling, this Porsche 911 turns heads wherever it goes.

Wheels and Tyres

The factory original Fuch wheels are in fantastic condition - the black painted centres are offset wonderfully against the chrome outer lip, which shows no signs of curb damage.

The wheels are fitted with Intensa / Nankang tyres which are DOT marked 2002 for both brands - of course we would recommend changing them, however the tyres themselves show no obvious signs of degradation to outside walls and have a good amount of tread.

Bodywork

The bodywork on this car is in good condition - we saw no signs of any significant issues.

Paint

The white paintwork is in excellent condition, having benefited from a full respray in 2015, it does look like a very good job was done, with no overspray in seals, door shuts, or wheel arches.

We could not see any major scratches or stone chips on the paintwork either.

Again, we have taken high resolution images and videos of the car for you to assess the condition of the bodywork for yourselves. Glass and Trim

During our visit we could not see any visible defects on the glass or any of the trim pieces, all of which are still present and in good condition, as can be seen in our exterior gallery below.

Interior

With its original brown fabric upholstery, this 911 offers a comfortable and well equipped interior.

Seats and Carpets

The upholstery is in good condition for its age, with only a small split in the driver's seat, however this is horizontal across the rear half of the seat base and does not largely detract from the overall appearance of the interior.

The carpets are in generally good condition too, with only the faintest signs of wear on the floor mats which are in good condition for their age.

Dashboard

The dashboard is in good condition with no cracks or obvious damage, with all switchgear present and correct and no obviously worn or perished items.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The steering wheel and gear stick are both in good condition overall, with the steering wheel showing very slight signs of wear.

Mechanics

Powered by the 3.2L flat six naturally aspirated engine, the 911 produces ~228bhp and offers an enjoyable and engaging driving experience.

Engine and Gearbox

Having travelled just ~89,800 miles from new, both the engine and gearbox work as expected, the engine starting with no hesitation during our cold start video and idling predictably.

The car is equipped with a manual 915 gearbox, which although being renowned for being notchy at lower speeds, is in perfectly good condition and the owner Andy tells us he has never experienced any issues with the gearbox.

Suspension and Brakes

With sport adjustable dampers the 911 offers stiff and responsive steering, whilst managing to avoid a jarring ride on rougher road surfaces.

The brake setup is in good condition, with the car stopping confidently and without squeal or hesitation.

The Drive

The 911 offers a fun and engaging driving experience, be it cruising around town, or taking a spirited B-road blast, the car handles every situation effortlessly. With its naturally aspirated engine, there is torque readily available in every gear, as can be seen during our ‘On The Road’ video where the car pulls effortlessly.

Electrics and Other

During our time with the vehicle we noticed no electrical faults, with all lights, gauges, clocks, and radio working as expected along with the electronically adjustable seats as pictured here.

History and Paperwork

With plenty of money spent in recent times, this is a car that's ready to be used and enjoyed.

Andy has owned the car since 2017 and has covered only a few hundred miles in this time, with the car spending most of its time residing in his garage. The car has spent some time off the road, most notably between 2001 and 2015, during which the car covered only ~6,000 miles. However since 2015, the date of the most recent service, the car has covered only ~1,600 miles.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a HPi check on the vehicle.
