Introduction

Classic looks, a visceral driving experience and fabulous handling – it’s a Porsche of course!
Classic 70's styling and Porsche engineering have guaranteed a committed and loyal following for the 924. First introduced in 1975 the car was a huge sales success with over 150,000 finding homes during a production run of just over 12 years. Originally powered by a VW 2.0L engine the powerplant was replaced in 1986 with Porsche’s own, 2.5L straight four then being used in the 944. Initially delivering ~148BHP in the 924S power was further increased to ~160BHP in 1988. Interestingly, this model of 924S was slightly faster than the similarly powered 944 due to its lighter weight.
This is exactly one of those cars – this, 1988 model, 924S is a fantastic example coming to auction in stunning “Guards Red” paintwork with Porsche script interior trim. The interior presents beautifully, the car has good history and comes with a private registration that has been with the car since its second owner. Clearly cherished by its current and previous custodians, this 924S is coming to market from ~2.5 years ownership and is now ready for a new owner to enjoy.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
Yes, working. The Blaupunkt header was already fitted when I bought PAS. Both the FM radio and CD player function as they should. The arial is an age correct manual telescopic unit on the os/front wing.
Hi
Can you confirm the radio is working?
Thanks
That’s helpful in terms of being well looked after ..but its a bit of a Boris Johnson answer in terms of addressing the question.
So, as they say on Dragon’s Den…” For that reason………”
Hi there. I only really know the cars history for my period of ownership, from October 2019. I bought PAS from PIE Performance, who had sold her twice previously. Given the comprehensive service file, I was satisfied that for (a now) 34 year old Porsche, she was well looked after by the previous owners. Hope that helps.
Hi, Looking at the photos there seems to be a little bit of impact damage to the right front chassis just behind where the right lower wishbone bush anchors, and adjacent to the jubilee clips attaching the new exhaust centre box to the slightly distorted downpipe. I also note from the invoices that on one of them is says ” front right bumper bracket realigned” and there was an MOT advisory on the functioning of that wishbone/bush , which also looks slightly as if its had an impact.
While not wanting to sound like Benedict Cumberbatch’s version of Sherlock…has this car accidentally run into and over a big bad rock at some time?
