Introduction
Kulraj Salh
A perfect blend of timeless design and thrilling open-top driving - a true automotive legend.
The Porsche 911 Targa combines classic design with thrilling performance, earning its place as one of the most iconic sports cars in history. It's instantly recognisable styling, low driving position, and precision engineering make it a standout. Powered by a 3.2L flat-six engine delivering ~231 BHP, it offers strong performance with a distinct character. As the final model year of the revered "impact bumper" line, it marks the peak of Porsche’s air-cooled engineering before the 964 era. The signature Targa roll bar and removable roof panel provide an open-air driving experience without sacrificing the 911’s renowned handling.
Coming to market from just over ~3 years, this example has benefitted from servicing carried out in August 2024, new HT leads and distributor cap, new Bilstein shocks installed on the rear. The car has had a top end engine rebuild in the past, and also had a body restoration in the past were the "kidney bowls" were replaced along with other works as necessary. The car is also complete with its original Porsche servicing books, branded portfolio and Porsche toolkit, and a current MOT valid until 12.07.2025.

Sorry for late reply. Both kidney bowls have been done. Targa’s are windy it’s a trait. No other dents, the photos are really good so it’s all there to see. On the cold start the heater fan was on, that’s the noise you heard. I have the targa badges. I’ll let you look at the photos on the filler cap, and let you decide, I never noticed the imperfections. All electrical bits were/are working.
Hello. The photos show the restoration work to the passenger side sill and kidney bowl. Has similar work been undertaken to the drivers side?
Are the dents mentioned in the description the dent and crease in the drivers door and the dent in the rear drivers side wing or are there others?
Is the paint imperfection around the fuel filler a rust bubble or just a paint defect or chip?
Do all the electrics work including the mirrors as they can be a pain to get working?
In the road test video there seemed quite a lot of wind noise. Was the targa panel in place or removed? Maybe that is just the nature of the targa model even with the roof in place?
In the road test there is a fan like noise from the engine before the engine is started. Any idea what this is?
Also I notice that the “targa” badges are missing from the targa hoop. Do you have these?
Sorry for all the questions – thanks for your time.
Thank you, the car is really lovely. The item you’re commenting on is very light non broken paint right on the edge of the windscreen. 2 small areas, I have photos of these if I can upload them. It’s been in my to do list but not got round to doing it as I would want the screen removed to do a proper job of it. Not an expensive job.
Thanks James for the quick response. All understood
Hi James,
She looks lovely. Am I right in saying there is some paint blistering due to corrosion at the lower near side part of the windscreen and also around the connection of the windscreen wipers. Apologies if this is not the case it is always difficult to tell with video of a black car.
Thank you
Kind regards
Mark
