Introduction
Kevin Jacutan
Arguably the best of the 994's, the S2 had a torquey 3.0L 4 cylinder engine and a revised transmission to match.
The 944 was first introduced in 1982, it was a new front-engine, rear-wheel-drive mid-level sports car based on the 924. In '89 Porsche introduced the S2 which had the same rounded nose and a rear valance found on the Turbo model, and the largest production 4-cylinder engine available at the time. A new gearbox to utilise the ~208BHP on offer, in manual guise it's a bit of a drivers car.
Michael is bringing his early 1989 944 S2 Cabriolet to market. Just 2 former keepers, one of which was his brother, the car having been in the family now for 13 years.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Kevin after meeting Michael the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
Hi
Just to confirm please that the car is registered and MOT’d so ready to drive away? The registration G808 YRX is not recognised on any sites hence the question.
Thanks Nick
Hi, Nick, the car is mot’d but on sorn. Yes you can drive away in it, ready to go. Thanks for looking.
There is a lot of red paint under car has this been sprayed recently?
What’s the oil pressure cold and hot ?
Has it had the front wings repaired as they rust ?
Any oil leaks?
Hi, the car has never had body work done, what you see is how it was made. oil pressure is 5 when cold, normal driving 4/4.5 and long 200m runs in summer say 25/28c never gets below 3.5, quickly recovers to 4 when normal speed resumed, Ha!Hand book states all is well even at .5 bar and needs to be at a max of 4bar at 5000 rpm! This is when new!! So all is well in spec, and in good order. Thanks for looking at my auction hope this helps
forgot your question re wings, the wings on my do not have any sign of rust, in fact the whole body has no sign of rust, probably down to them being galvanised before painting.
The wings normally rust at the bottom of the wings as it was a common fault and nothing to do with being galvanised so may have been done before you.
Oil leak since 2010 and still present now what is it and why wasn’t it dealt with?
Hi, the oil Leake you ask after was sorted by Ferdis garage, see invoice along with belts and water pump, re the wings , they are original and in good order. Thanks.
The invoice you mention from ferdis garage is dated 2016 but the mot just done shows that it has an oil leak as well as other advisories ?
Ha well you didn’t state the time line your referring to, anyway the lad who did the mot incorrectly assumed that oil beneath the oil filter on the engine floor pan/tray was a leak he didn’t ask me at the time it is the spillage from the filter when it is unscrewed when serviced. The tyres as you can see all have even tread wear, they both have 4mm on the rear and 4.5 mm front. Thanks again for looking
Just had a thought, if you cross ref the tyre invoices to the mot date you will see that the tyres have only done 7/8 thousand miles!! They only have 6mm new. Thanks
I was referring to the mot that has just been done NOT the one in 2016 and I never asked about the tyres ??
