Introduction
Glyn Parry
The best of the 944s, the S2 has the robust 3.0-litre engine, revised transmission and wide styling, resulting in one very attractive package.
The 944 was first announced in '82, it was a new front-engine, rear-wheel-drive mid-level sports car based on the 924. Later in '89 Porsche introduced the S2 which had the same rounded nose and a rear valance found on the Turbo model, and featured the largest production 4-cylinder engine available at the time. A new gearbox was fitted to utilise the ~208BHP on offer, in manual its a proper drivers' car.
Mike bought this lovely India Red 944 S2 back in 2001, and since has enjoyed the car on weekends and the occasional journey on holiday. However, due to recently purchasing a caravan and enjoying the camping lifestyle, this 944 has been tucked away in his garage for the last few years.
Mike has made the tough decision to sell and is ready to let it go to a like-minded Porsche enthusiast enjoy.
This listing was written from information supplied by Glyn after meeting Mike the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Hi Mike, I could probably get to you for around 4 & 5pm. depending on traffic it’ll take me a little while to get to you.
How would that work for you!
Hi Joe
I will be travelling to get back too but hopefully I should get back between 4 and 5. I will leave the car on the drive

Hi Mike, thanks for getting back to me with the answers to my questions, much appreciate it.
I also forgot to ask if the roof
Is electric and does the car have a years MOT please?
I would ideally like to swing by and take a look at it in person, if work allows.

Hi Mike, I’ve put a bid in for your lovely S2 and have a couple of questions to ask please.
Has the car had any body & paintwork I’m your ownership and looked through the history and saw the car had around 13 year gap with no services. Was the car recommissioned after being stopped for so long please?
Many thanks
Joe
Hi Joe
Thanks for your interest. In answer to you questions
Firstly, the only bodywork I have carried out was to the wheels. I had them dipped and repainted over 10 years ago.
As regards the second question I was living in Yorkshire and my job was moved to London. The car remained in my garage and was only used very frequently when I was able to get back home. I moved to my current address in 2012 and brought the car down and it has been in my garage here. I have a local garage that has overseen the car for me since I came here. They advised me to get the cam belt, water pump etc changed which I did in 2013. I then had it serviced and thoroughly checked over.
It has always run like a dream and I hope this answers your questions.
Regards
Mike
