Introduction

The 964 offers the perfect compromise between old and new skool Porsche.
Referred to as the 964 series, it was a natural evolution over its predecessor and despite similar visual cues, it was a considerable update that combined the character of the original with a modernised ‘90s acceptability. This included the shift over to coil springs and the notable addition of ABS. Options included the Tiptronic automatic transmission and all-wheel drive for the first time. Its main feature, asides from the all-new bodywork and overhauled interior, was the new air-cooled engines. As a result, it’s often said that the 964 offers the perfect compromise between old and new skool Porsche - for better or for worse. All models are great to drive and boast the classic styling, which is why the demand for these cars becomes stronger which each passing year.
Tom's 1993 Carrera 2 is the standard 2 wheel drive manual version and comes with a stack of paperwork and 22 years careful but active ownership. We should point out the pink elephant in the room (not literally of course) and get the distinctive colour out of the way. Known as Raspberry Red on paper, and in the flesh the car is very appealing and the rare colour joins a series of a fascinating group of Porsche colour palettes from the era.
The 964 C2 Coupé was one of the most popular of this series, so the rare hue and provenance of this well looked after example gives it a head start over the other cars that are currently on the market. The car comes with factory air conditioning and is finished off with 18" Turbo alloys.

Hi Tom
We would be interested in buying as a project car with immediate collection for the right deal thanks Paul
hi Tom – just wanted to check if you have rebuilt the engine or gearbox at all and if had any accident repair work required.
thanks
andy
Hi
The engine was removed at 60,000 miles as easier to do the major service at that mileage, and it had a new clutch at that time as precautionary. Had a starter motor, ignition lock and all usual bits but no major items. Couple of years back brakes started to “ squeal “ and despite changing pads and anti squeal shims it carried on! So …… new pads discs and calipers rebuilt ( I have a pal at AP Racing…!!!) and it was cured. Had seat squabs repacked and upholstery cleaned . See invoices. It’s a nice car; I can tell you the air con is crap but that’s a feature of the 964!! Heater good.
I’ve scratched both front and rear “bumpers” over the years; both been repainted ….. see invoices. We have no other paintwork done since we bought in December 1999!!
Cheers
Tom
Evening Tom, is this the original colour from new? How many keys come with vehicle ? Are the wheels the original or off newer model ? Is the engine strong and running sweet with no oil leeks?
Regards
Stuart
Hi Stuart,
Is engine good …. yes very always carefully warmed before “used” , no leaks
Is colour original.. yes
Are wheels original…. they’ve been on since we bought it, but probably not the originals.
The ignition lock was replaced by us, but we have two keys and two fobs
Any other questions, let me know.
Tom
Hi again Tom, your Porsche is a uk one? I see from pictures that it has a lot of bubbling all around vehicle possibly needing both sides or even a repaint. I would like to talk to you about your Porsche as not comfortable bidding on it with out discussing or seeing it first.

Hi
Car available anytime to see, near Warwick. There is paint bubbling as described at bottom of A post under screen, and rear valance has tiny cracks. There is a tiny ( say 1/2 inch square max) paint deformation on n/s rear wing, been there for years and not grown!
