Introduction
Jacob Boodrie
One of the last air-cooled 911, bridging the gap from the old school Porsches to a new era of technological advances.
Arguably the prettiest generation of the 911, the 993 offers a distinctive silhouette with great curves, detailing, and attractive silver alloys which will turn heads wherever you go. This is the "Targa" variant of the 993 body shape with a "greenhouse" system retractable glass roof. The 993 is very potent on the road, it was one of the finest sports cars back in the 90s and still holds it's own today, with the unbeatable tune of the air-cooled block positioned just behind you.
This 911 Targa is coming to market from 6 years of ownership. Finished in "Schwarz Metallic" (L744/Z8) over "Cashmere" (LC) supple leather seats, the MOT runs to 4th May 2023 and was serviced ~900 miles ago. It comes with a comprehensively documented service history, charting the mileage and work between main dealer and specialist service stamps. A full book pack and all the keys, this naturally aspirated flat 6 is ready for a new owner to continue custodianship.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
Dear John,
Lovely car, I may have missed this amongst the history/ paperwork images, do you know when the brakes were last replaced, both pads and discs?
Best regards,
Nathan
Dear Nathan,
Thank you
I have gone through the paperwork and can only assume that pads were changed during servicing. A Porsche Vehicle Health Check on 29 Dec 2014 at 79197 miles flagged up that the rear pads were 10% worn and the discs were 0.6mm away from min thickness. The previous owner used the health check as a jobs list and the disc change was ticked off together with the other highlighted items. I have invoices for the other items (suspension) which have been done but in honesty I can’t provide an invoice for the brake discs. The front pads were 30% worn and front discs 1.2mm from min thickness which did not cause an advisory.
I hope that helps, if you need further information please message me again via this site.
Kind regards
John
Many thanks John
good evening John,
are you aware of any mechanical faults with the car ?
Why has the sump cover been removed ?
Does the engine leak any oil ?
Has the engine been rebuilt at anytime?
If not has an rebuild been recommended at any time ?
Regards Charles.
Good morning Charles,
I’m not aware of any mechanical faults with the car, it has always been well serviced throughout its life with any recommended work carried out by either main dealer or Porsche specialists. The sump cover was not fitted when I purchased the car 6 years ago. I raised the same question with the previous owner who said it was missing when he purchased the vehicle in 2014. The engine has not been rebuilt nor has such action been advised. A new clutch was fitted approx 10K miles ago. There are no visible oil leaks that I can see. I don’t think you will find a more genuine Porsche 993 together with the supporting paperwork.
Kind regards
John
Good afternoon John,
Can you please tell me if the car has been modified in any way?
Have all genuine Gosche parts been replaced like for like?
Regards Charles
Hi Charles,
The car is totally original, any parts that have been replaced have been genuine Porsche replacements and are substantiated by various invoices. The only deviation from standard are the radio and cassette storage tray. Both these original units will be provided with the car as mentioned in the Interior details text within the description.
Kind regards
John
Hi John,
Some of the pictures under the engine appear to show moisture…is that oil or water and Amy clues as to where it originates?
Many thanks
Steve
Hi Steve, thank you for your question, I’m away today so will look tomorrow and report back to you.
Kind regards
John
Good morning Steve, I’ve taken a look at the staining and it appears to be the residue of a cleaning agent used when the engine bay (and the car) was valeted.
Kind regards
John
