Introduction
Glyn Parry
The legendary 996 - with its restyled sleek bodywork, a 3.4L water-cooled engine, and roomier interior - there's a lot to like about this Carrera that's morphing nicely in to classic status.
Launched in 1997, the Porsche 996 Carrera was designed as a sports grand tourer, but it was also comfortable and reliable enough to be used as a daily driver.
The 996 presented a milestone for the German carmaker with a redesign developed by Pinky Lai (also responsible for the designs of both the 987 Boxter and Cayman), lines were smoothed, windscreen pushed back, it also offered a level of comfort that both upon its release and now makes it so appealing to many.
This example has been in Tony's careful hands for the past 14 years, he really enjoyed his 911 ownership and kept the car highly original over his ownership.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Glyn after meeting Tony the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Hi Tony lovely looking 911 – have the cylinder bores been inspected for scoring please and if not would you be prepared for these to be borescoped prior to final sale (at buyers expense). Thanks.

Hi Tony has the car ever had any accident damage to your knowledge? Does the sunroof work/leak? Have you had any IMS/RMS work carried out? Are there any leaks (oil/water etc)?Thank you.
The sunroof works I think it’s shows in the write up Glyn has to my knowledge the car is dry. Also no accidents to my knowledge. The Ims Martin at porsche tech always check the oil filter for bearings flack’s and it’s has no signs also no water in oil
Also, the front bumper looks a different silver to the rest of the car? Has it been repainted?
Not in my time
Does the sunroof work and is it watertight?
Hello,
I can confirm that the sunroof is fully functional and watertight (also no signs of water ingress whatsoever).
Yes it’s open in the photos and the car is dry
Hi Tony, can you give any further info on the service history please? How many oil changes has it had since the one in 2008? The table in the description suggests it’s had 1 service since then.
It’s just had a oil and filter change and that needs to be put in the service book and photo of the service shows the service stamps
