Introduction
Darren Rungasamy
The 996, a clean-sheet take on the old rear-engined formula, now coming in to its own.
Porsche, always progressive in their approach to the 911, overhauled the dated air-cooled philosophy with the 996 in 1996 and brought the car into the modern age. There was no sacrifice to the bloodline of its rear-engined ability, and in every quantifiable way, it was quicker and more proficient than the previous generation. It also opened up a new market for the brand, for those who felt the cult of the previous generations of 911's was too extreme and uncompromising. Lighter, more powerful and stiffer than ever, it still retained the classic 911 silhouette and should be considered the perfect entry point to 911 ownership.
This 2000-year model of the manual gearbox version of the 996 Carrera is presented in a handsome "Metallic Ocean Blue" colourway and is complemented by a full leather interior. It has seen a handful of subtle but effective upgrades to the suspension and dealer option Sport Classic II BBS wheels. Adorned with a superb servicing history, it has also seen an upgraded IMS bearing and new Sachs clutch and comes to market from ~3 years ownership.

Good evening Joe
The paperwork shows a cover for the car – is this included in the sale?
Thank you
Hi joe how come your selling the car , also any unusual noises from the engine or smoke, has it had bore issue or been checked thanks
Hi there, I am selling as I just don’t use the car. I think I have done about 1500 miles in 3 years which is a waste. Plus I live in South London with 20mph zones so it’s pointless to have a performance car! I also have two young kids so it’s just not practical. With the engine, there are no unusual noises and there’s no bore issue to my knowledge. I’ve not had it checked specifically but it’s serviced with specialist Porschacare who I trust implicitly and they have never mentioned or noted any issue to me. Hope this helps.
Hi Joe, your Porsche looks in excellent condition and for your information I was looking to purchase a 996 many years ago but for whatever reason the purchase did not happen. I am located in Scotland and whilst the pictures, videos etc. are excellent I (assuming I move forward) may look to view, is this possible ? Due to your location if I decide not too view can we possibly discuss via a phone call, zoom etc.
Hi Malcolm, if you could send an email to hello@tradeclassics.com we can help arrange a viewing, we just need a couple of documents from you first.
Hi Colin, due to diary conflicts I will not be travelling to view the Porsche albeit i would like to talk directly with the owner. Is this possible ?
Hi Malcolm, Yeah that would be possible. We just need to check a couple of documents from you before we hand out contact details, if you could email us at hello@tradeclassics.com we can get that sorted for you. Thanks, Colin.
Hi Colin, based on the current bid + delivery + fees I will not be bidding. Many thanks for your support.
Regards,
Malcolm
