Introduction
Paul Wright
The first water-cooled 911 made a lasting impression on the 911 model lineup.
Porsche, always progressive in their approach to the 911, overhauled the dated air-cooled philosophy with the 996 in 1996 and brought the car into the modern age. There was no compromise to the bloodline of its rear-engined capability, and in every measurable way, it was quicker and more proficient than the previous generation. It also opened up a new market for the brand, for those who felt the cult of previous generations of 911s was too extreme and uncompromising. Lighter, more powerful, and stiffer than ever, it retained the classic 911 silhouette and should be considered the perfect entry point to 911 ownership.
Coming to market after ~6 years with our vendor, an extremely well-presented 911 with a full respray carried out in 2022, along with some mechanical improvements, this 2000 Porsche 911 Carrera is ready to be enjoyed.

As far as I’m aware, it has not
Has the IMS been replaced?
Engine has never been washed off, doesn’t drip, never used a drop. I can only assume it’s residual from sump plate seepage over time. It’s dry above the plate. Hope this helps
Hi Alistair, whats the oil leak resedues at the bottom of the engine (sump area) is it from the sump plate or elsewehere?
Hi Alistair, any ideas on the AirCon I guess it’s not as simple as a re-gas ? Also the central locking does it work from inside the car ?
Regards
Jonathan
Hi. Unfortunately the a/c will require some repairs. Central locking works inside the vehicle, both door solenoids fire and lock.
Is the car available to view ?
Hi. If we can arrange a suitable time and date, I’m happy for you to view the car
Hi Stewart,
We can help arrange a viewing for you, if you could send an email to hello@tradeclassics.com first, as we need to do a couple of checks.
Thanks,
Colin.
