Introduction
Colin Bashford
The 996 generation of 911 first appeared in 1997, replacing the 993 - it's aging beautifully and proving to be a rock solid investment too.
The Turbo came with a beefed up wide body and the twin-turbo 3.6L flat-six produces ~414bhp, through a 4WD powertrain. With the air intakes on the rear quarter, the Turbo is easily distinguished from a Carrera 4S.
This specific car comes to market after ~3 years of ownership with Iain, having covered ~4,000 miles. Finished in a stunning blue, with grey leather interior, it has the all-important 6-speed manual gearbox. This 996 has recently had its brake lines completely replaced and Iain has kept on top of the car in terms of maintenance.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Colin after meeting Iain the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Hi The 996 Turbo has a different engine type than the standard 996. The turbo engine does not suffer the same IMS issues as the non turbo one.
Having said that I have owned the car for 3 years and during that time it has been serviced twice at the Porsche Centre as well as having a lot of standard maintenance work carried out at a specialist. All the documents are available in the advert but I appreciate that can be time consuming to trawl through so I am happy to answer any specific questions you have around maintenance.
Hello Iain,
The appraisal states that you’ve stayed on top of maintenance. Can you please give comment on how you’ve managed the condition of the IMS/ baring given the well known risk/ issue this has on 996 model?Thank you
