Introduction
Andrew Taylor
The legendary all-wheel-drive turbocharged 911 - a benchmark for every other performance sports car.
Introduced in 2000, the 911 Turbo (996) completely blew the competition out of the water, the all-wheel-drive system combined with car's performance made it arguably the best choice on the market. Coupled with the comfort and practicality of reliable Porsche engineering, it continued to ensure the Turbo remained a household name.
The 996 presented a milestone for the German carmaker with a redesign developed by Pinky Lai (also responsible for the designs of both the 987 Boxter and Cayman), lines were smoothed, windscreen pushed back, it also offered a level of comfort that both upon its release and now makes it so appealing to many. The redesign allowed the car to be significantly lighter than its predecessors, whilst being 45% stiffer - in essence, it was the first of the modern 911 supercars, but still incorporated the recognisable tear-drop shape of the 911s earlier models.
This example has been in Bruce's careful hands for last 13 years, he always dreamed of owning a Black 911 Turbo and when the opportunity arose he couldn't give it a miss. We really like how original the car is, along with the condition of course.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Andrew after meeting Bruce the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
Hi. Bruce. What panels have had attention recently and what was done exactly ? The brake discs are suffering with some corrosion. When werr they last replaced and what life do the pads and did have left .
Hi there! I’m not sure I fully understand your question, but I will attempt to answer to the best of my knowledge.
The vehicle has not had any repair work of any kind to any panels during my ownership: it has benefited from a recent ceramic coating and paint correction?
Brakes were given the all clear my Matt @ Fearnsport a few months ago – I specifically asked if discs or pads needed replacing and the answer was an emphatic ‘No’ – some more regular use / enthusiastic braking was recommended to get rid of surface corrosion.
I’m working a project this afternoon but will endeavour to find which invoice covers the year and mileage that discs and pads were last replaced – the answer lies somewhere in the extensive history photos supplied on this page.
I hope that helps. Thanks for considering the car: Good luck if you place a bid 🙂
Hi There, I am looking at bidding from New Zealand. We have a rigorous compliance check to get the vehicle on the road. Is there any body repairs that you are aware of. Also any rust underneath the vehicle?
Kind Regards
Hi Antony! No body repairs and no rust. Note zero advisories on MOT certificates- any rust issues would be presented there. Matt @ Fearnsport regularly states its the cleanest 996 turbo he works on! Happy bidding ?
