Introduction

Becoming more and more desirable as the values of other Porsche models rise, the 996 facelift is one that won’t be around for long at these prices.
Launched in 1997, the Porsche 911 Carrera was designed as a sports grand tourer, but it was also comfortable and reliable enough to be used as a daily driver. Upon launch, the 996 received quite a lot of criticism from the diehard Porsche fans around the world. This was mainly due to the all new design of the head lights and the smooth sides without any larger wheel arches, like people were used to with a 911. Not to mention the move to a 3.4 litre, water-cooled engine replacing the, previously used for many years, air-cooled engine.
Just four years later the new model 996.2 was released. The newly designed headlights which were more similar to the turbo version car as opposed to the entry-level Boxster, kept the diehard Porsche owners happy, and more importantly, there was a larger 3.6 litre engine powering the new model from 0-62MPH in just 5 seconds.
This particular example is coming to market from a years ownership. After seeing the car for sale and buying it, the itch of owning another Porsche has been scratched, but with such little use, the 996 has spent more time parked up than being driven. The car comes with a solid history file with services from OPC and specialists, and recently had some maintenance conducted to ensure it is ready for sale.

Hi, I am interested in the car but two questions that still have not been answered….so there is no history of the ims bearing being replaced and why is there a advisory of a oil leak on the mot….but not under your ownership ?
I have no knowledge of the bearing being up graded. Whilst I have owned the car there has not been any drips/ spots of oil from the car. Wether in my clean garage floor or driveway. Hope that helps
Please confirm the engine number is the same as recorded on The V5c registration document.
Hi. Yes it is.
Hi, has the ims bearing been upgraded?
Hi. Not in my ownership.
I note from the MOT advisories that there is an oil leak. Please let me know where it is located.
Hi. During my ownership the car has not leaked or dripped any oil.
Hi Alan
Does the roof raise/lower judder free?
Thanks, Martin
Hi Martin. Yes.
Is there Bodywork corrosion at the rear of the front wheel arch.?
Hi. There is no corrosion. All the wheel arches are completely solid. There is however approx one square inch of slight surface rust where the paint has worn away at the bottom rear of the front OS wheel arch.
