I WANT ONEAsk Questions
Could you please provide full details of the work carried out by Hartech please? Thanks, Simon.
Hello,
Hartech have done the following:
Engine rebuild including new performance piston set with new rings, 6 closed deck aluminium alloy nickel silicon plated cylinders, main bearing set, thrust bearing set, performance big end bearing set & intermediate shaft bearing. Includes basic cylinder head overhauls (strip heads, de-coke heads & valves, re-lap valves to seats, skim heads & reassemble with new valve stem seals). Also includes new oil/air separator, spark plugs, low temperature thermostat, oil cooler, tandem pump & pipe, air filter, 4 exhaust clamps, 1 exhaust bracket, 3 vent lines, 2 oil catch tanks, starter motor wiring harness section, 2 main coolant feed & return pipes at either side of engine along with associated hoses, 2 engine mounts, brake pipe section over gearbox (off-side rear feed), various other minor parts as included, gearbox oil change, re-commissioning with new oil, coolant, air-conditioning re-charge, road testing.
Thanks for that, and when was the work completed, date and mileage?
Rebuild was done between July and September of 2021 at 74389 miles. Since then I have run the car in and had it inspected at Hartech (no issues were found). It was last serviced in June of this year.
Looks like you’ve been through the ringer with this car, sorry for that. Can see quite a lot of advisory work from Hartech, particularly clutch. Thanks for the info. Simon.
The clutch was only a little worn when the engine work was carried out and I was offered to change it because it was very convenient to do it at the time. Since it is still perfectly functional, well within service tolerances and the repair costs significantly exceeded my expectations, I elected to replace the clutch when it will be worn out.
Hi. Do you have a recent overrevs report? Thanks
I do not have one. Hartech have created one before the car was overhauled. I wouldn’t know how to generate one. All I can say is that I have never driven this car on a track and that I never pushed it into the red zone.
Thanks. Am I right it has the larger ims replacement? How many previous owners? Thanks
Improved IMS was fitted from the factory and it was replaced during the rebuild.
It had 9 previous owners
Thanks
does it come with heated seats and cruise control?
Regrettably, neither option is present on this car
The lack of heated seats in a cabrio is such a shame. cruise is neither here nor there on a sports car i don’t think.
Sorry to hear the experience you’ve had
I agree that heated seats are nice, but at the same time the heater on it is quite good and it will keep you warm with the roof down.
Given how much has been fixed, the new owner’s experience should be far better.
