Introduction
Matt Nolan
Pure performance through half a century of refinement and generous sporting modifications - this 997 Carrera S is something rather special.
As with every Porsche 911, the 997 is an evolution of the preceding model, the most obvious element being the redesign of the front end, back to the more traditional 911 styling.
Not only does the Carrera 997 look the part, but it also performs on par with the world's best sports cars, especially in terms of acceleration and handling.
This example has been given a few choice upgrades in the form of a new lightweight performance clutch, flywheel and exhaust system. The car also comes with a Porsche aero body fitted from factory and many other additional extras.
Russell has been the proud owner for the previous 6 years and loved every thrilling second.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
Hi Russ. The car looks very nice I must say. What’s the situation with the IMS bearing on this car, have you had it replaced? And have you had a borescope? I am led to believe that it is this generation of 997 that can potentially have problems with these items. Many thanks.
Thanks,
The compression test and borescope were done at 44,500 miles by Gen warranty through Bicester sports and classics, they do this to all their cars before they apply the warranty, I’m personally not aware of any genuine IMS issues on the 3.8 997s, (plenty of anecdotal evidence if you choose to believe it).
You will only get engine wear from poorly maintained specimens, this certainly is not one of those, I personally change the oil (mobile 1) every 1,000 miles as it only takes 5 or so minuets and costs around £70.
Kind Regards Russell
Thanks for that Russell, very helpful. I presume the car has aircon? Does it have heated seats as well by any chance?
Hi,
It has the 18 way air seats, so the side support and lumber are adjusted by air, not heated sorry, it does have air con.
Regards Russell
