Introduction
Alan Stuart
Arguably the last properly nimble water-cooled 911 - the ever popular 997, and gosh what an investor quality example we have here for you.
As with every Porsche 911, the 997 is an evolution of the preceding model, the most obvious element being the replacement of the old fried egg headlamps back to the more traditional 911 front-end.
The 4S variant offers more power from an increased displacement and not only does the 997 looks the part but also performs on par with the world's best sports cars, especially in terms of acceleration and handling. And let's not forget nimble as we know more recent generations, whilst amazing machines, have well let's say... put on a big of weight.
We think the 997 is truly the last nimble 911 generation that gives its drivers the ultimate 911 experience. We don't think we're alone in this thinking, as prices have been going up almost daily and especially for the very best examples.
This is one of those examples that's sure to cause a stir - just one previous owner, Porsche Mayfair, before being bought by Nick when it was just over a year old. This stunning car has got full Porsche service history by the same dealer, and has suffered a truly pampered life with just 43k miles on the clock. Like we say, investor quality car.
So if you're in the market for a proper 997 C4S in manual form, you want the best you can possibly buy, then you won't want to let this gem pass you by.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Alan after meeting Nick the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
Hello Nick does the car qualify for ULEZ
It does not incur the charge
Would it be possible to speak together about the car? It would give me a lot more peace of mind! My email is rob.com@gmail.com – would be great if we could arrange a brief conversation?
On the interior; it looks like there are some scratches, but there’s no clear photo; could you let me know? https://www.tradeclassics.com/auctions/porsche/2007-porsche-911-c4s/#gallery2-27
And under the window switches; is this dirt or deterioration/damage? https://www.tradeclassics.com/auctions/porsche/2007-porsche-911-c4s/#gallery2-9
Many thanks
Hi Nick, it looks from the history that a service (and MOT) will be due in the next month or so. As a non Porsche 911 owner (yet) would you be able to advise how much a service might cost, and sharing any things that might need doing? Many thanks.
I don’t expect anything will need doing above the service given it’s done very few miles since then and been garaged the whole time. Looking back at the previous services I’d guess £800-£1000.
Thanks for your reply – appreciate it.
Nick, I imagine many prospective buyers will have had the same thoughts as me…looks like a lovely and well sorted car, but what might cause the big bills?
1. Has the intermediate bearing been upgraded?
2. Has the rear oil seal been replaced?
3. Has any inspection been done to ensure there is no bore scoring, or has this been addressed in any other way?
Many thanks, and all the best with the sale.
Mark
Cheers Mark, yeah it’s a car that was an everyday driver for the first few years I owned it and then I started commuting to London and it’s not been used a great deal since. It’s had everything that Porsche Brooklands wanted to do to it done but I’ve not gone asking them any of those questions- tbh it wouldn’t have occurred to me to ask. It is what it is – a car that’s been looked after and not used a lot for years
Hi please could tell me if there are any paint chips to the front or anywhere else ? Thanks
Hi, I’m afraid I’m away from the car at the moment so can’t do a detailed check but Alan did and reports it being in excellent condition. I imagine there are a few but it’s in good nick as the photos show and hasn’t been doing a lot of miles for the last few years
.
Only if that’s done as part of the service. It’s not had anything recent as it has done very few miles in the last few years and hardly left the garage
Has the car been checked for any bore scoring issues recently
