Introduction

Colin Bashford
Professional Consigner

The Carrera GTS strikes the perfect balance between power and comfort.

Porsche introduced the 991 version of the 911 in 2011, replacing the outgoing 997. Initially, it was available in Carrera and Carrera S models, with Porsche's GT department launching their offerings a couple of years later. The GTS was launched in 2014 and neatly fills the gap between the Carrera S and the GT3. Producing ~424BHP from its 3.8-litre flat-six engine, the GTS comes as standard with Sport Chrono, a sports exhaust, and a ride height 10mm lower than the Carrera S. Slightly less hardcore than the GT3's track-focused approach, the GTS is an excellent car for a spirited B-road drive.

This particular car is a 2015 911 Carrera GTS. It has spent ~2 years with its current owner, covering approximately 48,094 miles over its nine-year life. It comes with a current MOT valid until 26 January 2025 and a Porsche warranty valid until 31 March 2025.

This listing was written from information supplied by Colin after meeting Robert the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

It’s a highly capable car, inspiring confidence with its lowered stance from Porsche.

Robert is a true petrolhead, having owned various sports and supercars over the years. The GTS marks his first foray into the Porsche brand, and he has thoroughly enjoyed his time with the car. After addressing a few minor issues shortly after purchasing it, the car has been a joy to own.

According to Robert, the GTS is a superb all-rounder. It’s docile and easy to handle in town, but on open roads, it comes alive, delivering an exhilarating driving experience. Having enjoyed the car for nearly two years, Robert feels it’s time for another enthusiast to take the wheel and experience the GTS. He is happy to answer any questions about the car in the comments section below.

Exterior

With its black paintwork, wheels, and badges, this Carrera GTS boasts a subtle yet aggressive aesthetic.

Wheels and Tyres

The car is fitted with the standard centre-lock multi-spoke wheels, finished in black. They appear to be in good condition, with minimal marks noted, some paint flaking was observed on the corners of a few spokes.

The wheels are equipped with a full matching set of Pirelli P-Zero tyres, all of which are in good shape with a decent amount of tread remaining.

Bodywork

The panel fit around the GTS appears visually consistent, with both doors, the bonnet, and the engine compartment opening and closing with ease. We didn’t notice any dents. There are some scuffs on the car, including one on the front bumper near the passenger-side DRL and a couple on the rear bumper on the passenger side.

We've highlighted in more detail our observations through our hi-resolution images and videos, so please take time to look through all the media files for a detailed view at what’s on offer, and for you to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

Paint

The "Jet Black Metallic" paint is in pretty decent condition overall, but with age there are swirl marks and a couple of light scratches on the front of the bonnet. Additionally, there are stone chips on the rear wings of both sides, as well as some marks in the paint beneath the rear badges.

The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there for yourselves. So please take the time to fully assess these hi-resolution images and videos of the car, for you to make up your own minds about the condition of the paint.

Glass and Trim

The windscreen is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks observed. The rest of the glass around the car is similarly well-maintained.

All the badges on the car appear to be in good condition. The tail lights are also in great shape, while the headlights do have some marks, likely from stone chips.

Interior

Alcantara inners and leather outers on the seats, complemented by red stitching and carbon fibre accents, give the GTS a distinctly sporty feel.

Seats and Carpets

The seats are in great condition, with minimal wear on the usual bolster areas and some creases in the leather at the bottom of the driver's seat. They look fantastic, featuring red stitching and the GTS logo embroidered into the headrests.

The Porsche-branded mats, also with red stitching, are in excellent condition, with no major stains noted.

Dashboard

The leather-covered dashboard, featuring red stitching is in great condition with no visible damage. The Sport Chrono clock in the centre of the dash appeared slightly fogged, most likely due to the conditions on the day of our visit.

The other instruments are clear, with the odometer reading approximately 48,094 miles during our visit.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The original leather-covered Porsche steering wheel is in good condition, with a small mark on the leather at the bottom of the wheel, otherwise it shows well.

The gear selector for the PDK gearbox is in great condition, with only light wear noted, and the paddle shifters looked good too.

Mechanics

A naturally aspirated 3.8L engine, mated to a PDK gearbox, gives the GTS plenty of punch.

Engine and Gearbox

Turning the key brings to life the unmistakable sound of a flat-six engine, starting on the first turn with a small amount of condensation that quickly clears. On the road with Robert's mechanic, Fabio, the engine performs excellently, delivering plenty of power and torque underfoot. We didn’t observe any unusual noises from the engine.

The PDK gearbox operates seamlessly, with very smooth shifts, as you would expect. No odd noises were heard from the gearbox.

Suspension and Brakes

The suspension is firm but not harsh, handling bends on backroads with ease and giving the driver excellent confidence in the car. We didn’t notice any unwanted noises from the suspension, even when driving on uneven roads.

The drilled brakes perform impressively, bringing the GTS to a sharp stop with no juddering or pulling felt through the wheel.

The Drive

On our short drive with Fabio, the car felt firmly planted on the road, even in the slightly damp conditions, with impressive grip levels.

The deep howl from the flat-six at the rear encourages the driver, while the PDK gearbox delivers razor-sharp gear changes. The suspension keeps the car glued to the road, and the brakes bring it to a stop with ease.

Electrics and Other

We didn’t test all the electrical elements of the car, but the radio and panoramic roof were functioning as expected. Robert mentioned that, to the best of his knowledge, everything else is in working order.

The TPMS indicated that the rear driver’s side tyre had low pressure and will need to be investigated.

History and Paperwork

Coming to market from ~2 year ownership, the car benefits from a Porsche warranty running to the end of March 2025, and the car comes in a desirable triple black specification.

The GTS comes with its latest MOT certificate, Robert's sales invoice from Porsche Glasgow, and a Porsche warranty valid until 31 March 2025. It also includes a GTechniq ceramic coating wash guide.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a history check on the vehicle - this is a professional check operated by HPI that will highlight if the car has been previously stolen, recorded as being in an accident, or have any outstanding finance - note, this does not include a mileage history check. The car has finance outstanding, which will be cleared as part of a successful sale.

We've summarised our own view on the car based on information gained from the seller in the listing above, however, and as you can see, we go to great lengths to photograph and video the car in hi-resolution detail - this has been done for you to make your own assessment from the comfort of your sofa. So please sit back, have a cuppa and take your time to review everything on this listing in order to make your own assessment on the vehicle's condition. Viewings are also welcomed with all our listings, so please get in touch with us to arrange a suitable time - we just need to speak to you first and receive a valid photo ID before confirming.

If there's anything you're unsure about, no matter how small, then please first ask the owner in the comments area below before placing your bid/s, as bids can't be retracted and form a binding contract if you win the car - just like a traditional auction house.

    Key Bidding Facts

    What is your reserve policy?

A reserve is the minimum price that the seller will let the car go for. We work with sellers to set realistic reserves in line with market pricing – we don’t take on vehicles with unrealistic pricing. Reserve met / not met labeling may or may not be announced during the auction – this is just like a traditional auction house, i.e. bidders may only know when they’ve been successful at the end of the auction.

If the reserve hasn’t been met at the end of the auction then we work with the highest bidder to try to work out a deal with the seller.

Why shouldn’t I leave bidding to the last minute?

Auto-Extending Bidding – we’ve developed auto-extending auctions that mimic traditional auction house bidding; it’s a key feature to make sure classic vehicles achieve their true worth. Bids placed in the last one minute automatically extend the auction by two further minutes. So there is no need to leave bidding to the last second.

Security – we operate higher levels of security, so you may need to enter further authorisations against your stored card after you select ‘Place Bid’. All this takes time and may mean you miss the end of the auction by the time the authorisation passes. To guarantee your bid, we recommend at least five minutes are active on the auction when you place your bid.
