Introduction
Alan Staurt
The Alpine GTA was built by a company with impeccable racing heritage, and at its launch it set a world record for aerodynamics, making it quicker than many premium competitors.
The Alpine GTA also known as Grand Tourisme Alpine was first launched by Alpine in 1985, the successor to the A310, the first Alpine produced 100% by Renault. The car featured a V6 PRV engine with a rear-mounted layout, extensive use of polyester plastic and fibreglass body panels, which made it faster than the Porsche 944 at the time. The GTA (A610) was one of the most aerodynamic cars of its time, recording 0.28 drag coefficient in its class.
This lovely and very rare V6-powered 2+2 sports coupé is presented in a eye-catching bright red paintwork and is powered by the rear-mounted PRV V6 engine delivering ~157bhp to the rear wheels. It’s been with Mike, the owner, for 3 years now, who is now downscaling his collection of interesting cars.
This listing was written from information supplied by Alan after meeting Mike the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.
