Introduction
Jacob Boodrie
Incredible Michelotti styling paired with sports performance and handling, the TR4 is a clear favourite among the classic community.
The Triumph TR4 was first released to the world in 1961 and production continued until 1965. The 4 was based on the chassis and drivetrain of its predecessor the TR3, but significantly restyled and modernised by the one and only; Giovanni Michelotti.
Modern features such as roll-up windows in place of the previous side screens were fitted, and an angular rear boot increased the storage capacity considerably for a sports car. The car is powered by the pushrod standard inline-four engine, with capacity is at 2.1L.
This TR4 is coming to market from 11 year ownership, used sparingly during that time for weekend trips. It's an American market car that was imported back to the UK early in its life, and had several mechanical features added such as a new unleaded head, servo brakes, Kenlow electric fan and overdrive in 3rd and 4th gears, as well as being converted to RHD. If you're in the market for a TR4 to use and enjoy, this car with a keen reserve is worth considering.
