Introduction
Dom Ginn
This born-again Stag could be considered as one of the best early cars on the market today.
The Michelotti designed Triumph Stag, a purposefully styled V8 GT car captured the hearts of the British public. That love is still ever present today, with a large following of enthusiasts in the classic car scene. The sound and drive on these convertible tourers enough to ensure that the model lives on strong to this day.
This particular car has seen the benefits of continuous mechanical upgrades along with its considerable body restoration. Documented as one of the earliest surviving cars, this example comes with a stack of history but also documentation and photos of a major restoration in 2018 (bills of ~£27,000 included). It would not be an exaggeration to suggest that this 1970 car is one of the best Stags currently on the market.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Dom after meeting Rick the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
Hi Rick ,obviously a little apprehensive buying a car without viewing, could you tell me if all the floor panels, inner sills, outriggers are solid and would pass an mot. Also is it possible to collect and drive home being road worthy
Hi – did reply earlier All panels solid or replaced – see bills. Roadworthy but hard top stand and original wheels will have to be transported
Hi.
If I am fortunate enough to win this auction, due to my location I would have to arrange collection and delivery with the likes of Shiply. How long would you be prepared to store the car post auctions whilst such arrangements are finalised?
Thank you.
Best regards
Craig H
If everything goes through I have no problem storing in my garage where the car lived for 4 years
Sorry but this car is not the fourth oldest known survivor. There are at least 20 others which are older than this one. Also, I doubt very much if the engine is LF 45 HE as this is the number of the original engine and that has been superceded a few times. Please amend the advert as it makes misleading claims and this is illegal in an auction situation.

Hi Peter. Sorry about the fourth oldest. That was taken off an old letter. Will remove that reference. The engine is the third and that number LF2120HE is shown
That’s fine Rick, but the Key Details section at the bottom of the advert still shows LF 45 HEBW. Could you amend please ?
The engine number has been updated on the listing to match the paperwork.
Thanks
Should be LF2120HE now as per V5 etc
Should be LF2120HE ( not 2020) Cheers
Wilco – sorry had not noticed
Hi, is the engine conversion for unleaded petrol?
Thanks
Yes – sorry did not state that
Thanks Richard for confirming
