So the hard top “average condition” does this mean the interior of it needs work as you have had it resprayed?
Yes. When I bought the car in 2005 it came with the with it. The hard-top paintwork and exterior brightwork is good, though it has never been on the car since. The chrome locking handles have ‘patina’ and some odd plastic bits possibly need replacing. But it does, as you say, need work to match the rest of the car.
Does it still fit OK or has the storage knocked it out of shape? Thanks for replying so quickly as well
I only had it on to drive it back from where I bought the car. It fitted (as well as it probably ever had). Since then the hard-top hasn’t lived its best life, but it’s been on a wheeled hard top stand in a dry garage. The issue with fitting it now are the ‘horseshoes’ – the chrome plates behind the B pillars, to which the hard top clamps. They were removed to be re-chromed, and they were put back afterwards, but, as I have never, and had no intention of fitting the hard top, they haven’t been adjusted or tested for fit. So, in summary, there’s no reason that it wouldn’t fit, but if I had to run down now and fit it, it may need adjustment. From memory, when I did drive it back from where I bought it, I just clamped it to the top of the windscreen frame, and the rest of it was held to the car by gravity, which, because it’s a weighty thing, was OK for this type of transport.
Thanks
Does the stag have a hood
Hi there. Yes it has a hood. This can be seen in some of the photographs. It’s in great condition. It also has a hard-top, and you can see this in the photos too (on a stand in the garage). I have never used the hard top, and it’s only in average condition, but I did have it resprayed at the same time as the car. Paul
