Introduction
Dom Ginn
Great looking and great sounding, the stylish V8 powered Stag has that classic 70's British appeal.
The Triumph Stag is a 2+2 sports tourer produced between 1970 and 1978 by the British Triumph Motor Company and styled by Giovanni Michelotti, an Italian designer and one of the most prolific designers of sports cars working with companies such as Ferrari, Lancia, Maserati and of course, Triumph. Envisioned as a luxury sports car, it was designed to compete directly with the Mercedes-Benz SL. All Stags were four-seater convertible coupes but for structural rigidity and to meet new American rollover standards at the time, the Stag required a B-pillar 'roll bar' hoop connected to the windscreen frame by a T-bar.
This Stag comes to market from ~35 year family ownership, having been purchased in 1988. It is a cherished example, having covered just ~1,000 miles since 2006, and the owner remarking that it has been garaged and not taken out in the wet. In preparation for sale, the car underwent a big service in November 2022 at a cost of ~£2,000, the work covering fueling, cooling, and braking, this car is very much ready for a new owner to enjoy this Spring onwards.
This listing was written from information supplied by Dom after meeting Sue the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Hi, very interested in the stag and just wanted to make sure that the overheating problems that they suffered with is all sorted.
Regards,
Keith.
Hi Keith, sorry for late reply. I have checked back through the copious maintenance history and there is nothing mentioned about overheating. The car had a full service with MOT in Nov ’22 and as part of the work by the Stag specialist garage, all cooling hoses were renewed. To my best knowledge the car doesn’t overheat. I hope this answers your question. Regards Sue
Thanks for the reply Sue.
