dpleedham1@gmail.com 07808066685
It’s in good condition
How much would you want if I win the auction ?
For the hard top(sorry)
Hi again I have made a bid and Probably will again, What colour is the top? Cheers David
Sorry wasn’t being rude it’s hard to keep up with it … The roof is yellow to go with the car.
OK no problem
You haven’t made a bid 🙂 but for the roof being open to you all …£700
Great full guys to you all for the bids such far , however The car is worth so much more then where we are at with bids . So I look forward to a really sensible offer for the car .
What’s the registration number please
Hi Adam ,
OPB 310R
Does the stag have a hard top?
Thanks David Leedham (leedo)
It’s been a Popular question this …. I have the hard top roof and old engine that I will give first refusal to the winning bidder as a separate entity . There both obviously worth a bit of money but the winner get a chance to buy them if they wish. And other bits I have which happy to offer to the buyer .
Hope this helps
Good afternoon
Last day for bidding good luck to all..
Just to clarify the actual car mileage is true to the speedo 51,000
And the new engine that went in Is 50,000.
Hi David, Can you give an idea of the mileage when you purchased the car please. I assume its genuine mileage is probably 151,000 miles ? Thanks, alan
Good Afternoon,
On the clock it shows as 51,000
The new engine runs fantastic and has done 50,000
As per the listing and frustratingly all the paper work for the car was lost.
Thanks for you interest in the car
Hi,
Thanks for your reply and I see the engine has done around 50k miles so I assume you reset the speedo to zero when the engine was fitted. Could you give me an idea what the speedo was reading at that time please so I can get an idea of the total miles the car has done. Thanks, alan
Hello ,
No the speedo has not been touched .
The mileage on the actual car is genuine and 51k
The engine i took from another car and then have done around 1500 miles in it .
The total miles of the car is the one on the clock .
Again hope this helps
David
Hi David, would be possible to view your vehicle Tuesday afternoon sometime between 2.00 – 3.00pm
Good Evening Peter,
Ideally personally would feel more comfortable had you made a bid like so many have and showed that intent tbh.
In line with the rules of the site and the selling procedure you need to contact them direct to potentially organise your request .
Thanks
David
Hi David I see the car has a tow bar, has the car been used for pulling a caravan etc.
Good lord no 🙂
I have always been a massive triumph enthusiast, bikes and cars . Still have a classic bike now . The tow bar was fora small trailer for the bike and I would take them to shows and of course show them both . A huge passion of mine and again can assure this car has been looked after and had a lot of time and money spent on .
Before someone asks the bikes not for sale 😉
Thank you.
And how about pics of the interior?
Hi Adam,
As per my recent reply all the videos are on there for you to get a really honest and clear idea how good the car looks inside and out and underneath .
Again hope this helps
Thanks David
Can you provide current pictures under the bonnet, and under the car?
Hi Adam,
Please take a look at the professional videos on the listing that give you a perfect view of under the bonnet and especially under the car which are both in great condition.
These are far better then anything I can take and gives you a complete transparency of how great the cars condition is.
Please let me know if you are happy with that and can view them ok.
Thanks for your interest in the car
I hope I’m not missing the answer elsewhere but can you clarify the mileage on the new triumph engine?
Thank you
Good Evening ,
As per listing 51,000
Hi David,
I can see you have answered some of the questions before, apologies. School boy error.
Would appreciate answers to the other points.
I’m not sure why the hardtop is being sold separately, as a previous stag owner and not a dealer I would have expect this to be an integral part of the overall package. Are you able to share photo’s via e-mail and likely cost as I would be very interested.
Regards,
Don
Good evening Don,
I will respond tomorrow in detail.
Thanks for your interest in the stag
David
Good Morning,
The current engine is a completely new and done the miles listed .
The old engine is stored away with the roof and can be bought separately I have mentioned that couple of times. And the buyer can have that option as they are both valuable.
The old engine was running totally fine until it overheated totally and I then replaced it again with a new one. The current engine is as good as you will find and runs perfect .
So the numbers would match up to answer that one. It has also had a viscous fan put in.
I don’t have photos of the roof and engine to hand but if you want to send me your email address I can send mine and we could look at maybe as separate sale and negotiation.
Ideally if your interested in all of it then you make a bid and win and you get the overall package your looking for.
I have had some welding done In the floor plain on the near side and it’s been off the road after my youngest daughter was born due to lack of seat belts in the back and not practical.
It has as per the listing been stored for ten years and has hardly any rust what so ever .
You can see exactly his good it’s condition is in the photos and all things have been noted.
Apart from a few new tyres and some tlc where it’s been parked up for so long , it’s in really great condition. And sounds and drives great .
The paint is original colour and as you can see its gleaming and good to go.
There are 3 yellow stags in the country one at 15k the other at 17
Mine however is manual with overdrive that works in third and fourth.
If your a stag enthusiast then no matter what the colour you will know this is a rare commodity, and if your driving a sports car it’s nice to know your actually driving it.
Excited to see who she goes to , you want be disappointed I can assure you of that .
Good luck to all that are bidding
Hi David,
Thanks for the updates much appreciated. My email address is donperrin77@yahoo.co.uk. Look forward to receiving the photo’s of the original engine and hard top, and an idea of what you are looking for each of the items.
Kind Regards,
Don
Hi Don,
Email has been sent , but out of respect for the bidders , the winning bid will get first refusal on the old engine and roof etc.
If it is not of interest to them for an additional and separate cost to there winning bid then items will be available to purchase.
Thanks David
Hi David,
That’s understandable and quite right.
Regards,
Don
Hi David,
A few questions please.
Why has the car been off the road for 10 years, was this engine related?
Was the replacement engine a fully rebuilt unit before you installed it. Did it include the heads or were these transferred from the old engine?
Is the engine that you removed the original unit, so would it provide matching details with the chassis, and is the old unit complete, and is it provided with the sale or is this by separate negotiation?
Is there an original hard top with the car, or did you buy it with soft top only?
Is the colour the original factory colour?
Also can you provide a list of the main things you have done to it during your ownership, I’m particularly interested in what body work/welding has been done.
Kind regards
Don
Hello. You mention in the listing that you still have original engine that overheated. Is this included in the sale?
Thanks
Does it say the engine comes with it ? The questions are not related to the listing .
If you buy the car we can talk about the price for the roof and the engine .
Or make a high end offer for it all and I can take all the questions seriously
The price is 9-13 for the car on its own .
If I can see a serious Offer for the car I could take this more seriously .
Have a good weekend will respond to bids going forward .
All questions related to the auction have been replied to.
Rude prick
Totally agree
Sorry for any offence caused, messages can come across strong when trying to make a point and also can be read wrong which I may have.
The original engines are of value and so like with the hard top it’s separate to the sale .
Hi David,
Any idea of mileage on car when 1st engine overheated.
Thanks in advance
No and I am not on this auction selling the original engine .
Good evening
Did I ask to buy the original engine, no, I asked as you owned the car and advertise it at 50,000 miles, all I wanted to know is how many actual miles the car has done in reality. Don’t think it is too much to ask
Hi david
I hope your well. I have a few questions.
1. Does the engine start and run smoothly
2. What restoration has been done to the car over the years
3 is the car rust free
4. Is the mileage 51k on the engine or the car
5. Is there a hard top with the car
6 is there service history
7 is the car to be picked up from chippenham
8. Does the car still over heat
Thank you for your time
Steve
Good Afternoon Steve,
1. The engine starts and runs very smoothly – the video was when it was first started after having a can of fuel put in it .
2. The car has had a lot of work done over the years – please read the listing
3. The car has very little rust – please refer to the 100 pictures and description of the professional listing that someone spent a lot of time for that reason
4. The mileage is on the engine – again please see details provided
5. No but it can be bought by the buyer separately and will need refurbishing
6. It clearly says there is no history
7. The car is based close to Chippenham and will need picking up there.
8. No the car does not still overheat.
*******Notice to all potentially buyers ******
The Stag is one of 3 yellow for sale in the country , and the only one In the much sort after
Manual with overdrive
The car will need some natural things done to it based on it being stored for a while but this is not project car, the listing if you read it outlines all of this and can’t be any more honest.
If your a trader looking to buy the car for cheap and sell it on then this is not for you.
The guide price is the MINIMUM the car will go for
The cheapest yellow stag on the market is currently £15,000 and is an automatic
All your bids are appreciated but the car has been in the garage for ten years and will stay there if the asking price is not reached and the bid is not realistic .
I am duplicating messages and responses this time , but please going forward if you can find it on the listing then refer to that . A lot of time and effort was taken from these guys who spent hours taken pictures and listing the car in Detail for this reason .
Appreciate this is direct but I am looking for someone that can see what the stag is worth to them and not someone else .
The car starts at 9k in my eyes happy bidding
Does the hood work, as there are no photos with the hood down.
Hi Alan, when we went to photograph the vehicle, we got the back cover up, and the hood down and in to recess about 90%, but not all the way in. As the car hasn’t been used for so long, it needed more investigation and David couldn’t really remember the exact procedure to get it in. Hope that helps. Best, Kulraj – Trade Classics
Hi
Have you made any mods for the cooling system? Kenlowe fan or similar?
Is there a current MOT?
How old are the tyres, do they need replacing?
Is mileage genuine?
Thanks
Terry.
Good Morning,
The cooling system was done but not by myself but has an electronic fan.
The listing clearly says the car has been dry stored for ten years and not used.
There is no MOT
The tyres condition and make inclusive have also been listed.
Mileage is genuine and again details on the engine all listed in great detail.
Richard
Hi David
Is the car running OK, why are you selling, can we view
thanks
The car is running absolutely fine, the very detailed listing explains that and the reasons for selling are clear. No issues in a viewing if a serious offer is on the cards. It’s up for auction for a reason and i of course have a min price it will go for, and the auction will run to the end of course regardless.
The car is up for sale and priced for someone that wants to drive it and enjoy it not sell it on.
I mention all of this that not to your self but for any other respective bidders or interest in the Stag to manage expectations or future bids.
The guide price to be honest is there for a reason it’s been stored for ten years and want be moving for Anything less.
A lot of work has gone into the car and the guys that provide the professional listing for you to go over
It’s a yellow stag that runs great and in yellow , rare in manual and in short there are not many about as we know. The car sells its self and whoever buys it I’m sure will get the enjoyment my self and my family have had.
Is the hardtop with the car
Good Evening ,
The hardtop is not part of the auction.
However I would of course be receptive to selling it to the buyer.
Thanks
David
