Introduction

Colin Bashford
Professional Consigner

With only 250 examples built, the Scrambler 1200 Bond Edition is a collectors item.

At its core, the Bond Edition is based on the range-topping Scrambler XE and was inspired by the stunt bikes used in the 2020 James Bond film 'No Time To Die'. Ridden in the film by James Bond (Daniel Craig), each Scrambler comes with a laser-etched numbered plaque on the handlebars. It also includes a certificate of authenticity hand-signed by Triumph CEO Nick Bloom.

This specific bike is number 168 of the 250 built and comes to market after approximately 4 years of ownership by our vendor, who has not ridden the bike at all, she has kept it in her garage with other bikes and cars, having bought it to form a collection of complimentary vehicles.

We are told it's never been ridden and comes with a bespoke illuminated base complete with 007 logos and No Time To Die silver collector coin incorporated into the bottom right corner of it.

Now due to a change in circumstances, Norma has decided to sell this very rare bike.

This listing was written from information supplied by Colin after meeting Norma the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

As an avid Bond fan, I felt very lucky to secure the Scrambler after another buyer cancelled their order.

Norma managed to find a Bond Edition Scrambler abroad and was ready to purchase it when her local dealership contacted her about a cancellation. She seized the opportunity without hesitation. A James Bond fan for years, Norma has amassed a significant collection of memorabilia in her garage. This Scrambler is undoubtedly one of the standout pieces in her collection.

Due to a change in circumstances, Norma has decided to sell some of her collection through us - she will be happy to answer any questions about the motorbike in the comments section below.

Exterior

The Scrambler features some 007 touches exclusive to this limited edition collectable motorbike.

Wheels and Tyres

The spoked wheels all look in great condition, as you would expect of an investor quality bike.

The Metzeler tyres still have the rubber strands on them as pictured.

Frame, Fairing & Tank

The fuel tank, suspension components, and frame all appear to be in great condition with no damage noted.

Paint

All the "Sapphire Black" paintwork around the bike looks to be in great condition. The only note we could make is that it was a little dusty from being on display in Norma's garage.

Screen and Trim

The light guard, filler cap, foot pegs, and other trim are all in place and look to be in great condition. The bike has been on display and never used, with no corrosion noted on any of the trim pieces. Some unique, Bond-themed trim pieces remind you of how special this bike is.

Interior

With the numbered plaque in the centre of the handlebars, you won't forget you're riding one of only 250 bikes.

Seat

The leather seat has 'Bond Edition' stitched into the rear with contrasting white stitching. The seat appears to be in great condition, showing no signs of wear.

Dash

The Scrambler features a small and neat instrument dial - in excellent condition.

Unfortunately, we couldn't turn it on to verify the mileage because the battery was disconnected as it's never been used.

Handlebars & Grips

The handlebars, complete with hand guards, appear to be in unused condition, and the grips and switchgear all look great.

Mechanics

Featuring a 1200cc Bonneville engine, the bike also boasts a 007 logo on the exhaust heat shield.

Engine and Gearbox

The bike comes with a 1200cc engine and due to the bike being on display, we didn't have a chance to start it - Norma mentioned that she had never started it herself.

The engine appears to be in top condition externally, as you would expect from a bike that we are told has never been used.

Suspension and Brakes

The bike features Öhlins dampers and Brembo brakes, all of which look to be in great condition.

The Ride

Norma has never used the bike, nor even turned it on, keeping it instead as a collectable item.

Electrics and Other

Electrics weren't tested due to the bike being on display - as this is 'as new' there's no reason to suggest that everything doesn't work as expected.

History and Paperwork

Complete with its certificate of authenticity, hand-signed by Triumph CEO Nick Bloom.

Is this the ultimate bike for a Bond fan? We think so. Coming from approximately four years of ownership from new, it has been on display in Norma's garage ever since she took delivery in 2020. The bike comes with its original sales order and a special edition backpack, which includes a 007-branded drinks cup, a No Time To Die baseball cap, and a poster featuring Daniel Craig riding the Scrambler. The bespoke, illuminated base the bike was displayed on is also included in the sale, it has a base coat of grey but needs rubbed down and a final coat of colour added.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a HPi check on the vehicle.
