Introduction

Rare 'Cesaro' Motorsport in good condition, inside, outside and underneath - an incredibly smooth driver.

Purchased this year for a BBC film, and used for BBC Carfest.

Storage issues means it cant be retained and I need to find the car a new home.

Market Auction

Richard, the seller, has created this listing themselves using our free Market Auction tool. Unlike our Curated Auctions, we haven’t photographed the car or written the listing, however we have completed 3 important security checks for your peace of mind.

V5C Checked

Richard provided a copy of the V5C logbook, which we verified against his photo ID for name and address confirmation.

Exterior

Attention grabbing colour coded white, sunroof and original Motorsport alloys, give that limited edition look.

Wheels and Tyres

5 rare Cesaro original alloys wheels are fitted in very good condition as you'll see in the pictures - on nearly new tyres.

Bodywork

Free from any significant corrosion or bubbles - sills, door bottoms etc all very good for the year.

Underneath is also incredible for its age and has all the signs of being maintained.

All the bulkhead seams were resealed to prevent water ingress.

Even the bumpers are free from typical scars.

Paint

Believed to be the original paint has never been resprayed, except localised areas as you'll see in the pictures - the underside of both sill ends which had the seams renewed after the MOT, plus a camera inside the drain plugs revealed no internal corrosion.

The car presents really well throughout, even in the door shuts and lower edges are in very good condition.

Glass and Trim

All glass and trim is good, no sign of cracks or damage.

Interior

Rare surviving period and funky patterned 'Cesaro' Motorsport Interior.

Seats and Carpets

Recaro type bucket seats are excellent, with no easily visible wear front or rear, just one tiny repair on the very edge of drivers seat back.

The patterned door trims also are like new, as are the door seals, and the deep blue carpets are good too.

Dashboard

The dash has no cracks or sun damage, and presents very neatly indeed.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

Gear stick is in good order and steering wheel is tidy with its special badge - there's just a bit of wear visible on the top centre.

Mechanics

Its been very well maintained and cherished by an aficionado, and it inspires confidence.

Engine and Gearbox

Mechanics are all in good condition - the car came with loads of new original / boxed parts, so they all got fitted, including fuel system & pipework, full ignition kit, starter, belt, hoses, sports exhaust system, inc boxes of spares in the boot.

Suspension and Brakes

Recent and new driveshaft replacement with boots and complete front suspension arms, steering rack, and many other parts - brake parts included new rear drums and brake spares (previous owner collected these).

The Drive

Very smooth engine and gearbox - a delight to use, reassuring brakes and precise handling & steering package.

Electrics and Other

All electrical systems function well, with many new sensors and other electrical parts recently fitted.

History and Paperwork

Its been cherished by a handful of owners, and evidently kept out of the worst weather.

Recent thorough overhaul of all systems, bristling with new parts, and mostly kept in storage since midsummer with about 20 miles since MOT in June.

Theres a file of papers and record of work done.

Its definitely an original 'Motorsport' aka Cesaro model and recorded as such on the V5.

Interesting forthcoming film history can be revealed shortly.

    Key Bidding Facts

    What is your reserve policy?

A reserve is the minimum price that the seller will let the car go for. We work with sellers to set realistic reserves in line with market pricing – we don’t take on vehicles with unrealistic pricing. Reserve met / not met labeling may or may not be announced during the auction – this is just like a traditional auction house, i.e. bidders may only know when they’ve been successful at the end of the auction.

If the reserve hasn’t been met at the end of the auction then we work with the highest bidder to try to work out a deal with the seller.

Why shouldn’t I leave bidding to the last minute?

Auto-Extending Bidding – we’ve developed auto-extending auctions that mimic traditional auction house bidding; it’s a key feature to make sure classic vehicles achieve their true worth. Bids placed in the last one minute automatically extend the auction by two further minutes. So there is no need to leave bidding to the last second.

Security – we operate higher levels of security, so you may need to enter further authorisations against your stored card after you select ‘Place Bid’. All this takes time and may mean you miss the end of the auction by the time the authorisation passes. To guarantee your bid, we recommend at least five minutes are active on the auction when you place your bid.
