Introduction
Glyn Parry
The Ultima Edition marks the end of the much-loved air-cooled legend, the VW Beetle.
The Ultima Edition is a special edition VW Beetle, the marks the end of the production of the air-cooled Beetle. It was first unveiled in 2003, at the VW plant in Puebla, Mexico. VW only made 3000 Ultima Edicions which brings together all the aspects of the car's 70-year history.
The VW Beetle was loved by the world for its practicality, reliability, affordability, and quirky character. The air-cooled engine eliminated the size and bulk of a water cooling system, while also eliminating the risk of freezing in cold northern winters.
This car was imported in 2003 and has seen a cosseted life with collectors from new. It has only covered a mere ~680KM over its life, the current owner keeping the car in a bubble in his garage for the past 4 years.
This auction listing was written from information supplied by Glyn after meeting Adrian the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Adrian,
Thank you for your reply. However although very much a Beetle enthusiast I do not think I can make your required guide price. All the best with the sale.
Best Regards.
Ray.
Does the number
plate come with the car
Yes, as mentioned in the listing, the plate comes with the car. Best, Kulraj – Trade Classics
Hello Ray,
The underside of the Beetle is perfect just like the rest of it, I have not noticed what you call surface rust to be honest but I dare say albeit highly unlikely there could be but ever so light. The wing you say about I should of done before now really but yes a minor local repair, I believe it was from a strap when transporting it chipped the paint, but again not a serious issue, extremely easy to rectify.
As for maintenance, any air cooled VW, Porsche old school mechanic can deal with these, they are as simple as the earlier Beetles. They are pretty reliable with ready available parts. If you were lucky enough to have a Mexican Fuel injected Beetle, it would be advisable to join the Mexican Brazilian Beetle Register where there is an abundance of knowledge to repairs and obtaining spare, very often new parts to keep them going. Having said all that with just 650km on the clock it will be a very long time in the future before you need to worry about that if you intend to use it.
Reserve? Yes you are correct with your assumption. Good luck with the auction, Adrian
Hi,
Re your car :
! ] Re underside as per video I assume where there is brown colour it is just surface rust?
2] Re the bottom of wing showing corroded part would this necessitate a localised repair or new wing to get it perfect?
3] Any future servicing and having never had a fuel injected Beetle before would this require a specialised agent re say annual servicing/MOT and sourcing parts?
I presume there are such garages you could use in your area?
I am going to assume you would require minimum £20k for your car?
Thank you for your time.
Best wishes.
Ray.

Hello Ray
Surface rust? I have not noticed this but possibly there is albeit highly unlikely and very minimal.
Rear wing? I should have had this done but it is a very minor local repair, I believe a strap whilst removing after transporting the car chipped the paint, not serious by any means.
These fuel injected Beetles are very reliable and any garage with basic skills can deal with them. If you were lucky enough to purchase a fuel injected or any other Mexican Beetle, it would be worth while joining the Mexican and Brazilian Beetle Register where you can obtain a wealth of knowledge regarding servicing, repairs and obtain spares usually new parts. With 650 km on the clock it will be along time into the future before you will need anything to be honest as this is basically a brand new car.
Reserve? Your assumption is correct. Good luck on your bidding. Adrian.
