Car Fest 2013 will take place from 23rd to 25th August 2013 in Laverstoke Park Farm, Basingstoke, which also happens to be the home of former Formula One world champion Jody Scheckter.
In 2012 Car Fest generated close to £1 million -this year it has the potential to double that!
Tickets for this years’ event went on sale on January 17th 2013. However, if you fancied going this year there is both bad and good news:
– The bad news is that the tickets sold out very quickly.
– The good news is the announcement of a second date and new location.
To clarify, Car Fest North has been created, meaning that the original sold out event has now become Car Fest South.
Car Fest North will take place from 2nd to 4th August at the Oulton Park Circuit in Cheshire.
TV and radio personality, Chris Evans, is again the face behind Car Fest 2013 and cannot supress his excitement at the prospect of hosting not one but two Car Fest events in 2013 – Chris says “I can”t wait to spend the three days of Car Fest North in the surroundings of the most respected race circuit in Europe, with such a depth of historical magic -then two weeks later at Laverstoke Park Farm – what a summer.”
Tickets are available to cover all possibilities!
For a normal ticket you can expect to pay £55 for one day, or £105 for the weekend. There are higher prices should you fancy yourself in the VIP area or should you want to camp on-site.
The Car Fest North event will take advantage of the track at Oulton Park and a section of the track will be used for the “Sprint” races. Cars will be racing in 7″s as well as Chris Evans’ own collection, there will races involving Historic 7″s, Movie Car 7″s, and World Rally Champ 7″s, to name just a few.
There will also be a number of car exhibitions by classic clubs and collectors. Car Fest boasts that the world”s greatest cars will be in attendance!
There will also be an auction, which as well as featuring various items and experiences, will offer the chance to bid for a classic car (should you be on the look-out or just tempted in the moment)!
Other than cars, music is a further big part of Car Fest 2013.
Depending on which day(s) you attend, you will see performances from the likes of The Feeling, Reef and Deacon Blue. The sold out Car Fest South has a line up which also includes Mr New Year”s Eve Jools Holland.
There will also be lots of other family entertainment and food to sample.
If all of this sounds like your kind of way to pass a sunny (but let”s face it, more likely rainy) August weekend, then the Car Fest North event may still have tickets available.
The aim indeed, is Children In Need. How great to see classic cars at the centre of such a significant event and for a great cause like Children In Need.
Tickets and all the information is available at the Car Fest official website www.carfest.org
